The fandom is ablaze with speculations and theories on J.K. Rowling's new project, POTTERMORE.
No one knows for sure what it's all about but if you want to take the name of the project literally, I suppose we can expect MORE POTTER. Razz

The big reveal is scheduled this coming Thursday, June 23.

I want something to read, that's for sure. I'm not too keen on anything online (some are speculating that it could be a role-playing Harry thing).

If it's the much anticipated Encyclopedia (Hogwarts: A History, anyone?), then I'd be first in line. Smile

Pottermore? I think it's another series of Harry Potter books. Many people wants Joanne Rowling to make another Harry Potter book series although Rowling denied it. Who knows? That Pottermore would be probably the one we're waiting for, a continuation of Harry Potter series.

I don't think it will be a book. With the description given online, it might be a role-playing or social networking site or something.

If it will be some kind of Encyclopedia just like what ProfAE mentioned, I might be spending my time in front of the computer again just to be able to read everything.^^

I just hope Jo will make a Next Generation Series, many are already pairing Scorpius Malfoy and Rose Weasley. Laughing

There's already Harry Potter Wiki (though not officially run by JK), but yeah, if it's an Encyclopedia, I'll be on computers even on hours when I'm not supposed to. Smile

but i'm not disregarding the possibility that it could be a social networking site/ role-playing site. well, uh, i don't know, Jo is a genius so whatever it is, I think it'll be something to love.

If she decided to put the Encyclopedia online, I guess that means she never got over the Steve Vander Ark thing? Haha!

Also, I'm not sure why she should espouse a social networking site, especially since there are countless fan sites out there already.

A virtual Wizarding World may be a more feasible option...

But yeah, I wish she'd just stick to her strengths and WRITE MORE BOOKS.

Yeah! It's not a book. JK Rowling already denied that she made another HP book though I'm still hoping it was.

We can submit them to Pottermore.com. They're having problems right now, though. A lot of people seem unable to get through. I've had different kinds of messages appearing, like:

We are sorry Pottermore is currently unavailable. Please come back later and try again.

I dunno. Hindi naman sinabi sa site kung hanggang kelan yung submission. But as far as I understand, the email submission is to be notified on how to register. Then, there will be an early registration on July 31. Those who will register will have a chance to gain early access of the website.

Registration on #pottermore is not first-come-first-serve[d] - you don't have to be in the FIRST million. So chill out.

We can guarantee that people everywhere are getting the same experience at the same time. That was extremely appealing to me. I am lucky to have the resources to do it myself and I think this is a fantastic and unique experience that I could afford to take my time over to make this come alive. There was really no way to do it for the fans or me than just do it myself. Not every author could do this, but it's right for Harry Potter. It is so much fun to have direct content with my fans. It was an extension of the existing jkrowling.com.

To be honest, I don't think any of the descriptions, pictures, etc. will really capture what Pottermore is all about. Just looking at all the text is making me crazy! O_O I'll just wait and see when it's fully launched. Pottermore sounds/reads like something you have to experience to get.

Lol, I love my House now, but it would be interesting to find that I'm eligible for a different one as well. Lately I noticed that I've been displaying some Slytherin-like tendencies.... bwahaha.

Those who were able to get into Pottermore today, can I ask what the question was, how the procedure of registering is, and what tips can you give out so we could get in as well?

Also, who has received the "Welcome email"? What does it contain, and how is the actual site? Did you get sorted? How was the sorting procedure? Did you get into the House that you chose? What kind of username options did they give out?

This is to help your fellow PHPers to have an edge over the others who are also vying for access.

Procedures and tips:

The clue will be posted randomly at the Pottermore website. Once you find the answer use this template: http://quill.pottermore.com/answer then go to that page. For example, if the answer to the clue is 245 (which was today's answer), you should enter http://quill.pottermore.com/245

After you have done so, watch the flash animation you'll see on the page and click the magical quill. The link for the registration will then appear, and just follow the procedures indicated after you click that link. And please remember that your email add plays a huge part to the registration so please use one that's valid.

Pottermore will send a confirmation mail to your email add. If you do not confirm within 48 hours, your registration will be invalidated and you'd have to repeat EVERYTHING again. But don't worry, you'll most likely receive the confirmation email within an hour. I received mine after more or less 20 minutes.

Once you've confirmed your email, Pottermore will send you a Welcome email (probably to 'orient' you about Pottermore stuff). I haven't received one yet so I can't say much about it.

Take note that Pottermore will not tell you when they'll be posting the clue - so if you really want to get in you have to constantly watch the site. Today it was posted at approximately 4PM here in the Philippines, so that's around 8 or 9 AM in London time.

Oh, and you'll SURELY receive an email from Pottermore so you don't need to register two accounts. Besides, the slots are limited so we might as well give others a chance, right? Plus, it's stated in the Terms & Conditions that you can't have more than one account. Here it is:

14 You may only register once with Pottermore via The Magical Quill. Entries via agents or third parties or the use of multiple identities and email addresses are not permitted.

So that's the procedure, hope I explained it well enough. Good luck tomorrow. Let's own Pottermore! Mehehe.

Oh, and keep a copy of CoS near you tomorrow. That's very important unless you have extremely photographic memory. Very Happy

The actual site hasn't got anything yet except for a short message about when the Welcome email will be sent. So I haven't been Sorted yet, though I'm really hoping I get Sorted into the House that I want. The username options usually have two words and two to three numbers at the end. The two words are typically things from the HP world, and the two to three numbers are just random. I don't think we're allowed to post screencaps, so I can't post one. Sorry.
