New Material: SS Chapter 5 (SPOILERS)

Hi guys!
Since more and more PHP members are getting into Pottermore and experiencing the magic, perhaps it's time to open threads for specific topics. I'm sure y'all are eager to discuss the new materials, from JK Rowling herself, found in Pottermore. After all, those new tidbits about the world we love and characters we grew up with are the biggest lure of the site, right?

Whew (Wow)! This chapter is full of notes from JK!
Here are just a few of the things we found out:
- Wand Core
- Wand Length/Flexibility
- Wand Wood
Not to mention the level of involvement of readers.
Who else got giddy while buying their books? Tempted to buy a solid gold cauldron instead of pewter? Was anxious while waiting to get chosen by a wand?
Go crazy guys. Discuss and enjoy!

I really enjoyed reading about wands. So far, it's one my favorite parts, along with the sorting in the whole SS quest. I really love the information J.K wrote. very-detailed and everything fits. 
When it comes to buying books, I was also excited. How i wish these books were real. I would love to read them and be part of my HP collection. And yes, I wouldn't miss that solid gold cauldron. I now have the 3 cauldrons. I bought the other 2 right after I finished shopping. =)

My wand's Alder, Phoenix feather core, 11 3/4 in., Surprisingly Swishy =) My wand's fine. I reckon it suites me well-based on the description. I was actually nervous when I was about to get it.

I enjoyed picking my wand as well! Mine's Silver Lime and Unicorn, Ten and Three Quarter inches, Quite Flexible =) And same with loonyphy, it fits me well. Silver Lime, based on the description, performs best for Seers and Skilled Legilimens. And by coincidence, my username has a word Seer in it! =)

My wand's fairly accurate methinks:
14 1/2 inches; made of hornbeam wood and has a phoenix feather at its core. It's 'solid'.
Have you guys tried checking the wands of the trio?
I think Ron's is the most accurate. Ash and unicorn hair!

Hmm...I tried to analyzed the trio's wand. I could also say that Ron's wand is really accurate but I have this "gut" feeling that Harry has the most accurate wand---Holly with Phoenix

Holly- "holly wands often choose owners who are engaged in some dangerous and often spiritual quest."
Phoenix- Phoenix feather wands are always the pickiest when it comes to potential owners, for the creature from which they are taken is one of the most independent and detached in the world.
-- very HARRY. Harry had indeed, his fair share of dangerous quest and for his core, perhaps phoenix because it associates itself with its future owner- Independent and detached too. Both can be attributed to Harry. Independent in terms of he's been alone ever since. There's really no one whom he can really depend on prior to his knowing and arrival to the Wizarding world. Detached, Harry has always been different. No one could really understand his situation. I am not sure if I found/heard this on the book or in the movie, but as they say even by wizarding standards, Harry is different or something." I wish there's a way where in I can change my wand. I know it's not possible, but I'm not really doing well with it. 
I love the Core and the Wood from where it's made but it's a bit too short for me. Partly because it was my fault... I let my daughter pick. Oh dear... I hope I don't mess my Magic up.

Sorry... There is no edit button here... I just want to add... My wand is 9 1/2 inches, Dragon Core, Apple, Surprisingly Swishy... But it really is too short. I guess I just have to deal with it and learn to channel my Magic properly.
