Re: [Spoilers] HBP Movie Discussions: Production
Re: [Spoilers] HBP Movie Discussions: Production
i think effects and sounds was great but the cinematography somewhat not that cleanly edited because sometimes that lightings would change especially during the transitions from one scene to the next... but the costumes were fine and appropriate for the characters and their personalities...
Re: [Spoilers] HBP Movie Discussions: Production
the effects were good, especially dun sa first part. i mean hindi po ako sa imax nanonood pero feel na feel ko yung scene at minsan umiilag pa ako. (buti na lang wala akong katabi ) The lights were okay, not too light yet not too dark. expected naman kasi na dark yung parang theme nung lights eh. so the lights were fine. costumes, were awesome. lalo na yung quidditch uniform. nakakaaliw. i want one

Uy, same here, napapailag din ako sa umpisa. hehehehe. Hope you get to watch sa IMAX, Janel!

Re: [Spoilers] HBP Movie Discussions: Production
i've seen the movie first at IMAX.. and promise.. ang lakas ng tugudug ng puso ko kasi feeling ko lumilipad ako at nagpasikut-sikot sa mga buildings hanggang sa makarating sa diagon alley.. afraid of heights kasi ako.. sa first few scenes talaga affected ako.. feeling ko isa ako sa mga death eaters.. so i guess to feel the same way as i did, better watch it sa IMAX or sa mga cinemas na malaki screen..

On costumes, I like the new "uniforms" introduced in this movie. I like the Gryffindor shirt and sweater although I am not much of a fan of the new Quidditch uniform.
I still wish they make the last 20 minutes of the movie into 3D than the first 20 minutes. I would have wanted to see the cave scene and the tower scene in 3D.
I don't have any qualms with the cinematography or the music. Although I still miss John Williams. Hehe! I think they could do much better on editing though. There was this scene when I think the transition was abrupt (prior to Harry entering Slughorn's memory in the pensieve), I thought there was something wrong with the theater itself. Hehe! Yung feeling na minadali yung scenes.

i love the cinematograpy of this movie hahaha, some of the scenes were painting-like in my opinion though medjo heavy sila on the dark color combination..
pansin ko din, magalaw yung camera.. tipong parang documentary style, though not really magalaw, may mga scenes lang especially pag habulan, humahabol din yung camera, medjo nakakahilo lang pero okay padin naman

Hi, Bing! Yes, that's what I told Meann the first time we watched the movie. Maraming hand-held shots. I like. ^_^

I watched it sa IMAX and the lighting was fine. The transitions were forgivable naman. Yun scoring niya ang the most effective yet, I cried, I laughed and I rejoiced dahil sa scores. The costumes were appropriate, lalo na yun kay Luna, I love her dress hehehe.
Re: [Spoilers] HBP Movie Discussions: Production
I like the transitions in this movie better than the others. (I'm not sure if it's transitions exactly... when they switch from scene to scene?) it's more seamless, imo.
cinematography's great, too. it's not dark. i love how they made the twins' shop! it should have been part of the IMAX experience. sad that they only had the first few minutes of the movie in 3D.

Re: [Spoilers] HBP Movie Discussions: Production
Cinematography was great. Better than the last one ^_^
At first I was kind of set off at the part where Albus and Harry went to Voldie's cave... I was expecting it to be green or something like dark green or emerald green but they made it just... dark. XD It gave deeper sense of horror, and though the inferi didn't look as scary as expeced at least the "gulat" effect worked somehow haha XD
Also, I'd praise the way Mr. Yates took his angles to make the movie look epic. There was much depth, even when there were character close-ups The castle looked somewhat more 3D, the environment around it more lush, and added a sense of grandeur to the castle's exteriors and interiors.
There was also much contrast in this movie. Perhaps they took a step further into the chiaroscuro technique. Costumes and props looked better... and as for the effects... well, with Industrial Light and Magic heading the entire sfx group, there's nothing to worry about. XD

Re: [Spoilers] HBP Movie Discussions: Production
okay, copy-paste from my Multiply post:
'Spinner’s End was exactly how I imagined it would be. It was also great to have had a brief peek on Arthur’s garage.
And the movie hired a new cinematographer as well, right? Bruno Delbonnel, the same guy who did the cinematography for the lovely little movie called “Amelie”. Aragog's funeral, that shot was breath-taking. On the other hand, the ray of light peeking through the smashed windows of the bare Great Hall was heartbreaking.
There was a new costume designer as well and I liked the job that she did for Slughorn's teaching outfit, Ginny's Slug Club meetings outfits, and Luna's Christmas party dress. I liked her choice for giving Malfoy a thin-lapelled black suit with matching black tie. She made Hermione wear pants! And when Snape, Malfoy, and the rest of the Death Eaters were storming out of Hogwarts, the way Snape’s cloak billowed after him was one of those tiny details that I love to love.
I just loved what Nicholas Hooper came up with for:
(a)the Slug Club's Christmas party
(b)Harry and Ginny's kiss
(c) the Quidditch try-outs, and
(d) Harry and Slughorn’s conversation the muggle house
Sorry! I still need to know their respective titles!
The simple little things were the ones that mattered:
(a) Hermione was returning the books on their respective shelves
(b) Hermione’s canary birds
(c) The brass owl on Dumbledore's podium
(d) The skating penguin on top of the cake
(e) When Ron was unconsciously making it snow.
Those sorts of things make the movie really magical apart from the grand Quidditch game.

Re: [Spoilers] HBP Movie Discussions: Production
Production was amazing. Medyo comment lang on the cuts (or maybe that's on the copy of the film na), mukha kasing nagjujump ung film strips eh. Watched it thrice in different cinemas, ganun parin. Pero over-all, I love it!
Re: [Spoilers] HBP Movie Discussions: Production
Yeah i think it's the copy of the film na that's quite jumping on different cinemas haha pero super great yung production and dun sa start medyo nalula ako nung it's form a death eater black smoke flying point of view yung ginamet ng camera haha overall, it was effective, the overall cinematography was good.
