Prof Sky, our Deputy Headmistress, brought up the idea earlier at the recent Book7 discussion at Powerbooks Greenbelt. Or at least she was the brave one to raise it up to me Very Happy

The Idea: Changes in the school robes.

My former designation in my muggle work (even in my current one) does not take me far from the concept of change. Even as I compose the start of this topic thread, I can imagine the actual changes in the school robe from the first (the very first one was auctioned at McDo St Francis Square last Dec 2003, I know ages ago) to the current one.

I'd love to hear from the Malkin clients. But since it's a "wish list", it may not come to reality.

We were discussing this earlier, can there be a wand pocket in the lining of the robe? Something like the pocket we have now but deeper and I guess, narrower?

Suggestions are always welcome.
Wand pocket? hmmm, that could be a little tricky because of the variation of wands. I'll just have to get just the right size to cover most sizes.

Robin:

For Quidditch Robes:
I did, not right now though.
But you have to specify which version. The only tricky part there are the leather accessories. Since I don't have the appropriate equipment to sew leather, I only made one set since then.
Robin, I think we have to shift this to another thread. I'll make another one.

Well, I'd like to have my robe's lining changed to a darker shade of green. I find mine's a lot different from the ones my other housemates have.

Re: wand pockets -- maybe when they order, they can specify if they want this and how long/wide it should be? like if the people have the Noble Collection wands kasi, different lengths din, and esp. if they carry the Voldie one around during cosplays, iba din ang specs nun. This can be part of the "measurements", I guess? Also, the pockets for wallets and phones... someone was saying that their phones won't fit in the pockets *coughXperiacough* *hem hem iPhone hem hem*, so I guess it can be a bit larger, or pwede din may specs? Like there's a standard one, but if they ask for it, the pockets can be bigger?

if ever na pwede magpa-fix ng robes, sana pwede magpadagdag ng pocket (sa mga walang pocket).. i agree.. better kung customized yung laki.. depende kasi sa gamit..

Possible of course, we just have to find the timing. Madam have yet to provide the appropriate rate for that.

That's the problem with fabrics. White, black and most specially colors. I typically have consistency problems with the emerald greens and canary yellows. Lesser problems with maroons and least with the navy blues. There's no standard in fabrics that most people in the textile industry follow. Even with same color designation, but with different batches of the same fabric, it's very possible to get different actual colors.

How bloody is your red? You recognize that getting yours "more bloody red" would make it not movie canon? If you follow the Gryffindor school robes in the movies from PoA to HBP, the inside lining is still the same maroon. You could argue that it is different from different video clips and pictures, but the difference lies in the lighting.

Hmmm... it's ok with me. But it would be difficult to convey these small details to Madam. She tends to make mistakes in these details that's why I'm going for the standard wand pocket.

In the existing school robe design, inside left breast pocket is included. The pocket is behind the House crest patch but attached to the inside lining fabric.

Hmmm... There was only one movie reference to a Hufflepuff Quidditch uniform but that would only be from PoA and also, it's mainly the robe.

Are you talking about Diggory's 3rd Task Shirt in GoF as reference?
